Thank you for sharing your experience, Anita. I can certainly relate. My parents meant well, but the culture of “success” was instilled early on. Recently, though, a few people I know have passed away suddenly in their 30s or 40s, which forces you to think long and hard about life. My wife and I talk a lot about what we want — to spend time with our children and enjoy the work we do. We’re trying to avoid the comparison trap and focus instead on what’s meaningful.
